MOUD in Recovery Housing: An Exemplary Case Study of Implementing Holistic Care in Indiana

July 8 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

As the opioid overdose crisis continues, people across the country are facing barriers to care due to the stigma surrounding medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD). Treatment philosophies that require abstinence from both substances and MOUD have critical implications for people accessing recovery services, including recovery housing. One recent peer-reviewed study found that, of 360 facilities supporting people with opioid-related needs, one-fourth were unwilling to serve those receiving MOUD. For people seeking recovery housing, this unwillingness can mean choosing between their life-saving medications and a safe, supportive place to live.

Join us July 8 from 1-2 p.m. ET, for our PCSS-MOUD webinar: MOUD in Recovery Housing: An Exemplary Case Study of Implementing Holistic Care in Indiana, as we hear from Progress House about their journey toward embracing access to evidence-based MOUD in a recovery housing setting.

Educational objectives:

  • Define anti-medication stigma and describe how it impacts opportunities for recovery from OUD.
  • Describe the spectrum of recovery residences and the key components of each level.
  • Demonstrate ways that providers can prevent MOUD diversion.
  • Explain the steps to creating a recovery house culture that supports MOUD.
